This is a profile piece of Brenda Foster, owner/operator of the Runs with Wolves Sanctuary, in Limington, Maine.  Brenda founded the sanctuary in 1990.  She has taken it upon herself to rescue abandoned and neglected wolves and to educate the public about the wolf, which have been deemed "extinct" in Maine since 1996.  But the most surprising thing about her newfound career is that the wolves seem to help their human caretakers as much as the caretakers help them.

Thank you!

Educating people about wolves and their ability to thrive is the dearest issue to me. From what I have learned wolves need protection more than ever. I have been trying to find a way to help them and this report is like a sign to persevere on that course. I (and probably many others) would appreciate more information on how to help wolves. Perhaps another story could emphasize the connection between diet and wolf killing. If people could chose alternatives to beef more often perhaps this could help? Please do a story on the last wild wolves in BC. Locals have permits to kill wolves for any reason. This is utterly wrong. Make some noise about this please. Education and opportunity could put a stop to this insane brutality. Aren't dogs supposed to be a Man's Best Friend? Thank you deeply for making people aware of this issue. Sincerely, Angela Woods.
