Howard Sivertson grew up in a fishing family on Isle Royale. He’s made a study of voyageur history and the Lake Superior fur trade. He’s also written a number of books on Isle Royal and the North Shore. But Howard Sivertson is best known for his paintings. Howard joins Jay Andersen for an hour-long talk as part of WTIP North Shore Community Radio's "Third Thursday Community Conversations."

He’s also the author and illustrator of several books that center on life and history on the North Shore of The Big Lake. He is known throughout the region as a talented painter and storyteller, with a great sense of humor.
