IF YOU ATTEND MIAMI UNIVERSITY, CHANCES ARE YOU HAVE READ THE POLICE BEAT IN THE MIAMI STUDENT NEWSPAPER- YOU MAY HAVE EVEN BEEN FEATURED IN IT.

BUT WHAT HAS STUDENTS TALKING TODAY ISN’T JUST THE ANTICS OF UNDERAGE FRESHMAN ON HIGH STREET, IT’S WHETHER THE BEAT IS A VALUABLE PART OF THE SCHOOL PAPER OR AN UNNECESSARY MOCKERY OF MORE SERIOUS SITUATIONS.

SACHA BELLMAN IS THE FACULTY ADVISOR FOR THE MIAMI STUDENT NEWSPAPER AND ARGUES THAT THE PAPER IS IN ITS ETHICAL RIGHT TO RUN A POLICE BLOTTER.
