Cesar Chavez once said “ We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community...our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” With that said the Recuerda a Cesar Chavez Committee presented two annual “si Se Puede” awards to two individuals who have exemplified the ideals of both Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta. These individuals have demonstrated the ideals of Cesar and Dolores by making meaningful contributions to our communities through leadership, service, and education. Youth Producer Jeremy Jones had the opportunity to sit down with Maclovia Sanchez de Zamora the honorable winner of the Dolores Huerta Si se Puede Award winner.
