In the process, we have destroyed the microbes in the soil with Round Up, and poisoned the entire food supply, including ourselves, with a host of chemicals. What can I do to remedy the situation? Something so simple, so elegantly radical: eat local, organic foods. I choose cherries ripened under Fourth of July fireworks, garlic pulled from the hot August soil, and apples blushing in the September sun. I choose to eat with awareness, with gratitude for my family and the food I'm eating. I choose quality rather than quantity of food.
