On this episode of Don't Cha Know we feature Ed Lagace and Michael J Pappas as they talk to us about turtles of the Upper Mississippi Refuge and it's watershed as was presented at The Frozen River Film Festival at Winona State University this past January. Turtles are on the run in the fast paced society we live in, but, they are losing the race. Every spring Turtles are on the move to their egg laying grounds where they encounter the dangers of crossing roadways. Nearly half of the 55 turtle species native to the US is declining, and research suggests that car and truck collisions are partly to blame. Today you'll learn about theta challenges that face the turtles in their natural environment.
