Across the world, people have been migrating from one area to another for as long as they’ve had legs to walk on. Some go in search of freedom, some in search of food, some in search of safety or a better way of life. In South Africa, Johannesburg’s famous Market Theatre has been showcasing a musical called “Songs of Migration.” It focuses on the joy and pain migrants went through in the apartheid era when they left their rural homes for South Africa’s mines and farms.
