Four are needed
Five are wise.
This riddle's about the four tires on a car, plus a spare. There's no correct way to solve a riddle, as long as the answer's right. So let's look at a convoluted path to the solution. Suppose the number four brings to mind the four suits in a deck of cards. But when you think about the clue, "Five are wise," you rule out the idea because decks of cards never have five suits. But thinking of an extra suit reminds you of packing for a trip. From there you think of loading your suitcase into the trunk. And in your mind's eye, you see the spare tire, and boom! the four tires ricochet into focus, and the riddle is solved!
NEW RIDDLE:
Each year comes the bandit
With ravenous eyes
The baker surrenders
A portion of pies.
(answer: see 4/23/11 piece)
