Vanore_small In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, we'll tap into two strong new jazz releases, "Contagious Words," from trumpeter John Vanore and his band Abstract Truth, and "Chronicles of Carmela," from guitarist Wayne Goins, whose guitar is named Carmela. We also have the debut album of the Swiss-born sensation, singer, guitarist, and songwriter Eliane Amherd, and a song from the recent album from singer Jane Stuart, her interpretation of one of Stevie Wonder's classic songs. We have blues from the Big Head Blues Club, namely Big Head Todd & The Monsters, celebrating the centennial of Robert Johnson's birth, with special guests (and their guest on the song we play will not disappoint, B. B. King), and from Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan from the "In Session" CD-DVD recorded in 1983. We'll hear from violinist Vicki Richards and her trio with a folky fusion piece, and We'll make one of our infrequent visits to the world of ambient music and listen to a Sunday morning soundscape from Bruno Sanfilippo.
