Part One TALKING SOUL TO SOUL Religion has been used for good and it has been used to stoke mistrust, fear and even all-out hatred. As natural as it is for most of us to believe in God, for some it is just as natural to believe that God plays favorites, God loves me and mine best! That basic human frailty, the need to feel superior, is the seed of all prejudice. Today we will explore the antidote for intolerance as we talk with John Beeching, a man who has spent nearly 40 years of his life immersed in interfaith dialogue.
Part Two: TALKING SOUL TO SOUL John Beeching is a medical nurse, a Maryknoll Brother and one of 25 candidates in national Canadian newspaper, The Globe and Mail's annual award for Canadian citizens leading transformational lives, immeasurably improving the lives of others. John has worked in Chile, the Middle East and in Thailand since 1990. There John was asked by the Abbot of a Buddhist monastery to teach his young monks English. This work has become his life and his door to interfaith dialogue. We return to our interview with John Beeching.
