Three_degrees_helen_scott_small The Three Degrees are a female musical trio originally from Philadelphia. They were formed in the early 1960's by record producer Richard Barrett who was responsible for The Chantels, Little Anthony & The Imperials and Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers. Richard Barrett selected four girls from a local high school for his next two new acts. Three of them became the Three Degrees modeled after the Chantels, and the fourth a solo artist who would become interchangeable with the group. Helen Scott was one of the girls chosen by Richard Barrett in the early days. Helen talks about the history of the group from the 1960's to the present. The Group has recorded for record labels like Swan, Roulette, Philadelphia International, Epic and Ariola. Their hits have been Maybe, When Will I See You Again, Dirty Ol’ Man, TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia), Ebb Tide, MacArthur Park plus others.
