Br_logo_small This nasty woman pounds about
She'll drive thee to thy dwelling
And smite thee on thy head
If thou come out
B'fore her dispelling.

This is a riddle about a rainstorm.   It's presented as an ill-tempered woman who pelts you with raindrops until you go scurrying indoors.  Now we could expand this riddle further by picturing the mud puddles as her children.   What do you think of this:   Her growing children at thy feet/ Impede thy going on the street.  Such a charming family.   One listener had a completely different idea.   She thought the smiting on the head might be from a pounding hangover.

NEW RIDDLE:

Twice each year, if on a scale
These two will weigh the same.
(answer:  see 3/26/11 piece)
