Piece Description
Brian Lobel was diagnosed with testicular cancer when he was 21 years old. As a result, one of his testicles was removed. What did he do? Why write a one man show about it, of course, entitled "Ball". In this segment youth producer Tania Unzueta asks Brian to tell us his story, and perform some excerpts from the traumedy. The result is a discussion about gender expectations, sexuality, body image, disability, illness, identity, and Brian's story. This was produced as part of "Nuestras Letras / Our Words", a radio show out of Radio Arte.
