This is a social commentary/spoken word piece about the City of Chicago.
Piece Description
The team of Homofrecuencia went to the protest on the sencond anniversary of the start of the war on Irak in Chicago and explored the relationship between fighting for peace and human rights abroad and fighting for human rights within the United States, in particular the rights of LGBT people. It also explores the relationship between Latino immigrants and nationalism, as well as immigrant rights. It is a bilingual piece, although mostly in Spanish. It includes intervies with both pro and anti war activists, including Juan Torres, who is currently alledging that his son, a former soldier, was murdered by his peers in the army, Lourdes Lugo, an activist for Puerto Rico's independence and former political prisioner, as well as an 8 year old girl who says that she does not want to go to war.
