- Bluegrass Review #1111
- From
- Philip Nusbaum
Early in the show we play a classic country song built on a convict’s optimism. Each night in his cell, he dreams happily of his family. The contrast is with songs about depression, which leads into the Gem of Bluegrass, about the booze-bluegrass connection. Bluegrass has a no tolerance policy for booze. Later, we talk to Roland White. Roland is a bluegrass veteran who has played previously with the Kentucky Colonels, Bill Monroe, Country Gazette and the Nashville Bluegrass Band, and now leads the Roland White Band. He talks to us about his recent composing.
