Back when I was in the eighth grade, my history teacher went off on a
tangent and said, "I want to know something! Who here believes in
evolution?" Well, it always made sense to me so I raised my hand. It
turns out that I was one of three people in a class of 35 students with
their hands raised. But I was the only one everybody was looking at
because I was the preacher's son. After glaring at me for a couple of
seconds, the teacher went on to say, "So, you believe that a clump of
seaweed washed up on the shore, sprouted arms and legs and then
walked off?" I got the distinct impression I had opened a can of
Darwinian parasites.
I've never understood the hostility the theory of evolution provokes
especially when, if you choose to believe in God, you could always
frame it as another example of the magnificence of God's creation.

Review of Intelligent Design
Religious commentary is tricky to do, but Paul McDonald does an excellent job with this piece. It is a great example of good writing well delivered, and would work well in any magazine format. A good commentary should be a thoughtful observation from a personal point of view, and this piece does just that.
