This short commentary holds to purporses. First and foremost, to acknowledge the devistation in NOLA and how music has always played a part of the life of the city.
It also is intended to remind listeners that stations bring New Oleans music them every day. Also, what we hope is a subtle way, to remind listeners that stations will need their financial support this fund raising season too.
It does not use the WTMD call letters so it should be fine as is for stations to use. Please feel free to use as is, cut it up, re record it. Make it work for you or use for inspiration.

Review of Music Will Help New Orleans RebuildWhat a wonderful, inspiring, uplifting piece! It exudes memory for anyone who has ever visited New Orleans, and hope for those who haven’t. This first person essay is very well written and delivered. Although intended as a fund raising piece, it could be used anywhere that a dose of inspiration is needed, and a reminder that music is a way of life. |

No other city is as dedicated to music as New Orleans. Indeed, the soul of America is more vibrant on Bourbon Street than almost anywhere else in America or the world.
Our station wouldn?t exist with the sounds of New Orleans. Our days would be dull if every artist who spent time in the French Quarter, the uptown jazz clubs, or the Warehouse district were removed from our library.
For those of us who have frequented New Orleans, we are in mourning. For the beignets at caf? Dumond, Sunday Breakfast at Mothers, and a Muffletta from the Central Grocery. Hell, I?d give up coffee for a year to just have dozen oysters and a cold beer at the Acme right now.
At night we remember the sounds of Tippitina?s, The House of Blues and the street players in Jackson square.
For Those of you who have never been there. Don?t fret too much. While we have much more darkness to go through be...

Hey great piece. And a great cause that can't be mentioned enough. Everyone who has ever been to N'awlins will resonate to this piece. And anyone who has never been there will get a taste of what a special place it is.
Thanks.
