In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, it's a long overdue new album from Chicago blues singer Graná Louise. "Gettin' Kinda Rough" from Delmark Records, which features Graná both in the studio and in concert at Blue Chicago, comes eight years after her debut album "Generations." She has become a mainstay on the Chicago blues scene during those years, and is now set to conquer some larger territory with this strong new release. Also, music from the late pianist George Shearing in concert. Born blind in London in 1919, he took to jazz at an early age, drawing on the big band sound of Glenn Miller to develop his piano style. We'll play a track from the Alligator Records 40th Anniversary Collection album, from Mavis Staples, and we have new music from the Wayne Wallace Latin Jazz Quintet from their album "To Hear From There." Hear Hear!
