In this hour of The Blues & Beyond, it's two Wilsons. Singer Cassandra Wilson has a new, mostly live album called "Silver Pony," and, as she does on just about all of her albums, she draws from old blues for some of her material, including a New Orleans standard and a Charley Patton song, as well as a song Muddy Waters made famous. The other Wilson is Sarah Wilson, trumpeter and singer, who has a new release called "Trapeze Project." We'll check out a spirited instrumental and a most unusual reading of a rock hit from 1980 from the album, the Joy Division hit "Love Will Tear Us Apart." Also in this hour, songs from the album "Louisiana Swamp Stomp," featuring Baton Rouge bluesman Larry Garner, with Buckwheat Zydeco, and Dwayne Doopsie, son of the late great zydeco player Rockin Doopsie. And music from jazz pianist Vijay Iyer from his latest album which is called "Solo" including his tribute to Sun Ra and an exciting interpretation of a Monk tune.
