John Register on Hurdling Adversity & Disability: Mind Over Matter
From: KQAL
Series: Culture Clique
Length: 31:46
This week on Culture Clique, Olympian John Register speaks to us about the disabled community. While training for the 1996 Olympics, Register fell on his left leg resulting in its amputation. But through that adversity, Register eventually went on to perform in the 1996 and 2000 Paralympics, even winning a silver medal in the long jump. A self-proclaimed Inspirational Catalyst, Register travels around the country speaking to corporations, schools, and veterans about “hurdling adversity”. This is part one of our interview and the talk he gave at Winona State University, hosted by Anna Flores.
