Jerry Granelli is the Last surviving member of The Vince Guaraldi Trio that created The Charlie Brown Christmas sound track. This is the behind the scenes story of that Christmas Special sound track, your guide is Jerry Granelli. Back in 1965 a rag tag crew from the San Francisco area came together to help make the Charlie Brown Christmas Special an immediate classic. 2010  marked the 45th anniversary of A Charlie Brown Christmas on television.

It was the first Peanuts animated special and it launched an empire. Many a critic has suggested that without its Vince Guaraldi jazzed up sound track that special never would have had the same impact.

This is the story of coincidence.

The tv special, the sound track, all of that almost never happened. A Charlie Brown Christmas is the result of a perfect storm of circumstance and talent.

Drummer Jerry Granelli grew up in San Francisco but now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

He is the last surviving member of that Vince Guaraldi trio who recorded the now classic soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas.

He and producer Colin MacKenzie decided that it was time to head back to San Francisco and put the pieces back together as to how that sound track came together 45 years ago.
