Coastal Studies for Girls is a hands-on marine science and leadership program for sophomores in high school. But for 15-year-old Laura, it’s more than that. Laura’s mother is an illegal immigrant and her family lives paycheck to paycheck. Over the last few months, Laura has explored nature, feminism and her own sense of self.
