Georgia rocks

I sat next to Georgia at Salt, and I can tell you she worked her butt off on this piece. Saltcast recognition well-deserved!

Intro and Outro

INTRO:

The Urban Renewal program has had a lasting affect on many American cities. The federal program introduced after World War Two aimed to clear cities of so-called slums, making way for improved infrastructure and commercial development. The areas most likely to be affected were the city’s working class, African American and immigrant neighborhoods. Georgia Moodie has the story of how Urban Renewal impacted the Italian community of Portland, Maine.
