On this edition of Don’t Cha Know, we visit a restaurant that has had many famous visitors, including Horace Greely, Senator Alexander Ramsey, Mickey Mantle and many members of the Mayo family. Dick Jensch is the General Manager of the Hubbell House in Mantorville, Minnesota. The Hubbell House opened in 1854 as a hotel for westward travelers, and since then has become an award winning restaurant. Jensch has worked at the restaurant for over six years, and his favorite historical artifacts in the restaurant are the hotel guest books from the past. Jensch recollects the president of Iraq visiting recently with his entourage of security, and he discusses some of the history of the hotel and thrills us with stories of past guests and more recent food lovers. Jensch even discusses the tale of a ghost in the attic of the current building, which has been standing since 1854. KQAL's own Lisa Ostrander reports.
