What does it mean to have an opinion on a controversial topic? Stanford student Tenzin Seldon, who is Tibetan, created a class in critical thinking for Tibetan students living in exile in Dharamsala, India. She taught them how to hold an informed opinion and understand the various sides of an issue. From the question of gay marriage to Tibetan independence, these young students living in the Himalayas learned to think in new ways that involved educating themselves about issues in ways they never had before.
