His award winning essays have appeared in many literary journals including, Alimentum, Cottonwood Magazine, River Styx and Voices in Italian Americana. Author of several books, his most recent is the fascinating Bitter Greens: Essays on Food, Politics, and Ethnicity from the Imperial Kitchen. Not exactly a Thanksgiving book, but timely nonetheless with its food-based reflections on Italian food, American culture, and globalization.
