Drivingontherim_small McGuane is the author of nine novels, three works of nonfiction, two collections of stories, and several screenplays, including “Rancho Deluxe” and “Tom Horn.”

McGuane’s new book, a darkly humorous picaresque novel, is titled, Driving On The Rim. He lives on a ranch near McLeod, Montana, where he and his wife, Laurie, train cutting horses.
