ERIC WHITNEY: Last month we reported on the growing arts community in Salida. This week, Salida is once again in the news for artistic reasons, but this time on a much larger scale. World-famous installation artists Christo and Jeanne Claude are in Colorado this week for the planning of their next work, Over the River. They held a public meeting in Salida on Monday. Stephen Raher attended and has this report.

STEPHEN RAHER: Over the River has been in the planning stages for more than ten years. The last time the Bulgarian-born Christo and his French-born wife and collaborator Jeanne Claude visited Salida was in 1997. They met with local residents in a drab multi-purpose room with fluorescent lights. But since then, Salida has seen a revival in the local art scene.
