Iron Tribe is the story of four people who lead a recovery group for former addicts and felons in Portland. The piece features their personal stories of recovery from their previous lives with the support of this group-Iron Tribe. While the group is anchored in Native American traditions most of its members are not Native American. The four main characters Bear, Heidi, Shawn and John are strong voices that give insight into this topic. The documentary includes scenes, interviews, a short reading and is mixed to tell the stories of their decision to change, the daily struggle they face and where they are now. Its an inspirational story.
