Public Media in the Digital Age

Public media is the most trusted source of news in both the United States and in Great Britain. And yet, public media institutions are fighting for their lives. Both PBS and NPR in the States and the BBC across the pond are being challenged by economic and political pressures, a rapidly changing journalism landscape and technological innovations that are transforming the way people view news.

This week, leading figures in public media and journalism discussed the rapidly shifting news landscape and challenges and innovations in the public media at a panel sponsored by Free Press and the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C.
