Lindsay Simpson is the physical education consultant for the Vermont Department of Education, and she also coaches the Thatcher Brook School "Girls On The Run" program in Waterbury, Vermont. She took up running in a community program as a kid, and says it's been part of her life ever since.
We met Simpson earlier this summer at the annual "Girls On The Run" 5K. Over ten weeks, she coached 20 school-age girls who weren't runners to get ready for the three-mile race. We asked Lindsay Simpson to apply her coaching advice to adults who want to give running a try.
