The American Dream travels a little ways down the Havana Road.
Havana Road tells the story of a naturalized American citizen who arrived in Florida at the age of four on one of the last Pan American Freedom flights. Her father died when she turned 17 and she started to work. Last year, for the first time Quintana found herself unemployed and without prospects. Worse, her stock account was losing value rapidly. She cashed out, invested in herself, and began selling her "authentic" Cuban dishes at Farmer's Markets when suddenly she was discovered. Less than a year later, her Havana Road products can be found in 38 Whole Foods locations. Andrew Hiller reports.
