Piece Description

In the last 6 months, according to the Afghan Independent human rights commission, there were more than 1500 reported cases of domestic violence. Women lack many basic rights - the right to go to school, to participate in government, to choose whom they marry, even to leave their house to seek medical care during pregnancy. Amandine Lee brings us more on the complex reasons behind the oppression of women in Afghanistan, and what needs to be done to stop it.
