PART1
TAIWAN HAS LONG BEEN A HUB FOR OVERSEAS CONTRACT WORKERS THROUGHOUT ASIA, AND THE VAST MAJORITY OF MARYKNOLL FR. JOYALITO TAJONERA'S  PARISH ARE MIGRANT WOKERS FROM THE PHILLIPINES WHO CAME TO TAIWAN FOR A MORE PROSPEROUS FUTURE. THESE F
OREIGN WORKERS MAY BE ALONE, AND
FAR FROM THEIR OWN COUNTRIES, BUT, THANKS TO FATHER JOYALITO, HIMSELF A NATIVE OF THE PHILIPINES; THEY CERTAINLY HAVE A PLACE TO CALL HOME. JOIN US AS WE VISIT WITH MARYKNOLL FATHER JOYALITO TAJONERA IN TAIWAN, TO HEAR MORE ABOUT HIS METHODS, HIS MISSION, AND HIS MOTIVATION TO HELP MIGRANT WORKERS FIND A WAY TO SUCCEEED IN THEIR NEW SOCIETY.

PART 2

AT THE UGNAYAN MIGRANT CENTER, WHICH FR. JOY FOUNDED AND WHERE HE ALSO SERVES AS A FACILITATOR, OVER 300 VOLUNTEERS, MANY OF THEM MIGRANTS THEMSELVES, ARE DEDICATED TO REVERSING THE TREND OF EXPLOITATION AND SUFFERING. BY RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT TOPICS RELEVENT TO THE LIVES OF MIGRANTS, AND BY EDUCATING AND EQUIPING  MIGRANTS TO BUILD THEIR OWN ORGANIZATIONS FOR WORKERS' RIGHTS, FR. JOY SEEKS NOT ONLY TO HELP THE INDIVIDUAL, BUT TO CHANGE THE SYSTEM AS WELL. WHEN WE VISITED MARYKNOLLL FATHER JOYALITO TAJONERA IN TAICHUNG, TAIWAN LAST OCTOBER, HE WAS ENERGETICALLY GETTING READY FOR THE FIRST OF 2 SUNDAY MASSES, BUT HE STILL HAD TIME TO SHARE HIS PASSION FOR HELPING THE MIGRANT COMMUNITY WITH US.
