Scott Mulhern: I’m 63 now, graduated from high school in ’65, born in ’47, so I’m right at the vanguard of the boomers. And we were the first generation who had ever looked within. When I graduated from high school, nobody took drugs. By the end of ‘65, everybody took drugs, everybody was having sex. It was a very wild, fertile time. And suddenly things became possible.
I was 19 years old, I was going to drama school in New York City, the American Musical & Dramatic Academy, and I was drunk every day of the week. I was lonely, lost, and I was really drunk. I used to walk into same liquor store, put down a five dollar bill every two days, and the guy would hand me a bottle of Jim Beam and never say a word.
