2:00 Pitch Break

During this special edition of The Moth Radio Hour, you’ll hear the story of a perfect, but haunted apartment in Paris, listen to a daughter remember the funnier moments of her dad’s death, and meet a guy who was almost murdered

Since the beginning of time, human beings have connected with each other through story telling. That’s what makes public radio so compelling – whether it’s The Moth, Fresh Air, Car Tall – it’s all about telling stories.

Your financial support makes it possible to bring you all the great stories you hear every day on (Station), including The Moth Radio Hour.

16:16 Hr 4 Segment A = Moth 204 A Joan Juliet Buck
IQ: (Theme Music) This is The Moth Radio Hour. I’m Sarah Austin Jenness (Jen NESS), The Moth’s producing director……”
OQ: This hour is produced by Atlantic Public Media and presented by the Public Radio Exchange. PRX. Org.”

4:00 Pitch Break

A great story draws us in with raw honesty. Joan Juliet Buck’s humorous, self-effacing tale makes great public radio because it is totally honest. That’s what The Moth Radio Hour is all about – people telling stories from their own lives before a live audience without scripts.

Before we hear the next story from a young woman recounting her father’s death, let’s be totally honest about why we’re here today.

This is (Station) membership drive. It’s the most efficient way for us to reach the largest number of listeners to remind you how public radio works. (Station) is able to bring you unique, powerful programming like The Moth Radio Hour because of listener support. We depend on you to help pay for the programming so (station) continues to serve the community as a trusted source of stories that matter.

7:38 Hr 4 Segment B = Moth 203 C Vickie Kelleher (KELL eh her)
IQ: Welcome back to The Moth Radio Hour. I’m Jennifer Hixson….”
OQ: This hour is produced by Atlantic Public Media and presented by the Public Radio Exchange. PRX. Org.”

4:00 Pitch Break

Losing a parent can be a turning point in a person’s life. When people share these important moments with each other, it brings them closer.

The Moth Radio Hour is an example of the powerful connection between you and your radio. It’s the type of program that makes you stop what you’re doing, turn up the volume and ignore everything but the voice you’re hearing.

Help keep great stories like this coming to you on (station). Make a pledge now, before the next story in which a custom data base soft ware engineer quits his job, buys a VW van and finds the meaning of life.

14:00 Hr 4 Segment 3 = Moth 202 D Tom Wiser
IQ: “From PRX, this is The Moth Radio Hour. I’m Catherine Burns…”
OQ: (Catherine) “…. His essays have been featured on NPR and in Newsweek” (Jay’s full closing): “……go to our website, The Moth dot org.” (Theme music to end.)

4:00 Pitch Break

During this special edition of The Moth Radio Hour, you’ve heard three personal stories about events that changed the story teller’s perspective on life.

Maybe you can identify with some of the stories you’ve heard because you’ve had similar experiences or the same emotions. That’s why story telling is so important in bringing people together.

That’s one of the reasons you listen to (station) every day. To hear stories from around the world and right next door that make you stop, listen, learn and think.

For that reason, (station) is counting on you to make a financial contribution.
