Congress has the power to outlaw off-shore drilling. So let’s blame Congress for the Gulf coast oil spill.
Corporate money buys the votes that get people elected to Congress. Can Americans be blamed for voting for someone who looks so good in endless campaign television commercials? --- Candidates who say they will cut taxes? You know that’s a lie, but you want so much to believe it. You know that candidates only say what polls have told them you want to hear. You know that a candidate foolish enough to tell the truth can’t even get on the ballot.
We cannot escape the fact that money buys legislation. As long as corporate America is allowed to contribute to political campaigns, corporate America can do pretty well what it wants.
