Dozenz of so called "Tape Labels" have sprung up in and around San Francisco, mostly featuring Noise, Industrial and experimental music. You can find the music as well on websites, but to own the physical release you need to have a tape recorder. Released in small numbers with artistic and one of a kind packaging, these tapes are representing a vibrant underground music scene in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I spoke to Julia Mazawa of "Nice Ass" and Daniel Hintz of "Tenderloin Electronics".
