Shelby Lynne got her start in Nashville, but her eclectic style didn't fit well with the country music establishment. In 2000 she found a new audience with her impressive roots rock album, "I Am Shelby Lynne". In the past decade she bounced around various record labels. Lynne got positive notice for her 2008 tribute to singer Dusty Springfield. "Just a little lovin'" was produced by Phil Ramone and released on Lost Highway. Lost Highway wasn't as happy when she turned in the demos of her next effort--the album that would become "Tears, Lies and Alibis". Determined to make an "honest" record, Shelby Lynne decided to form her own label and produce the album herself. "Tears, Lies & Alibis" features personal songs without a lot of polish.
