The nursing program is one of Winona State University’s most prominent departments. However before becoming such an important aspect in Winona States curriculum the program nearly lost it’s accreditation. As part of Winona State’s “Living History project” we bring you the story of Doctor Ann Sawyer, a woman who used her experience as a counselor and nurse to bring the struggling nursing dept stabilization. Stay with us to learn about the events that earned her respect not only as a member of the Winona State Faculty but also as a mentor, an innovator, and a friend. Featuring commentary from Dr. Sawyer and colleagues Dr. Jo Stejskal, Suzanne Smith, Janet Wilke.
