KEVIN KELLER IS SITTING IN HIS UPTOWN NEW YORK CITY APARTMENT THAT HE SHARES WITH HIS WIFE. IN WHAT WOULD NORMALLY BE A BEDROOM, HE HAS KEYBOARDS, COMPUTERS A MIXING DESK AND STUDIO MONITORS. IT'S HERE THAT HE WROTE THE FRAGILE, INTROSPECTIVE MUSIC OF HIS LATEST ALBUM, IN ABSENTIA.

"In Abstentia" EMERGED FROM A FAMILY TRAGEDY 2 YEARS AGO WHEN HIS FATHER IN-LAW, A PHILADELPHIA AREA PHYSICIAN, WENT MISSING ON A HUNTING TRIP with two friends IN NEW JERSEY.

KK: No one really knows what happened exactly to them except that none of them survived the night. We don't have enough information to know exactly what happened, but it seems pretty clear because these guys were seasoned hunters that it was something that happened very quickly and very unexpectedly.
