Wnr100326-nowruz_small People from Turkey to Afganistan have been observing Eid Nowruz, the Persian New Year, for over 3000 years.  Today, some 300 million people, celebrate the holiday every year on the spring equinox.   But last month, for the first time, the UN officially recognized Nowruz as an international holiday. Gabriel Ramirez and Jared Nolan have this piece on how some Persian Afghans and Kurdish Iraqis celebrate Nowruz. This piece was featured in Out With the Old, on March 26, 2010.
