From: Alaska Teen Media Institute
Length: 00:28:42

In Other News is a montly news/features magazine produced by teens at the Alaska Teen Media Institute. Read the full description.

Atmilogo_small In Other News for April 2005 was a tight, clever half-hour of teen-produced radio. Playing off the hijinks common on April Fool's Day, hosts Steven Walsh and Gina Park weave creative links between this month's round of teen stories. Listen to Caitlin Garing investigate how negative news headlines affect parents and teens, Heather Tyner comment on her TV resentments, guest contributor Gwen Buckland report on hosting an anime convention, Sara Perman's quest to see whether teens should have their own cell phones, Michael Eddy introduces us to the Kid of the Month and Hellen Flemings profile of the Mat-Su band Strept. It's a jam-packed program that will both inform and entertain. April's In Other News aired April 4th, 2005 at 1:30pm and April 5th, 2005 at 9:05pm. Both broadcasts were on our partner station KSKA-FM 91.1 Anchorage, Alaska. Caitlin Garing's negative media piece aired by itself on the Alaska Public Radio Network's weekly magazine "AK" at the end of April.
