Radio_k_sxsw_small Many of you might be wondering why South by Southwest is a big deal?  Why does an event over a thousand miles away in Texas have any relevance to Minnesota?  This is music at its finest.  Over 1400 bands decend on Austin each year and play thousands of showcases.  This is where bands get discovered and get the rightful attention they deserve.  This year marks the debut of musicians that will without a doubt continue to garner extensive praise in the coming years.  Artists like Phantogram, Sleigh Bells, The Antlers, A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Malachai, and so many more.  And this is a national institution that has propelled the best of the midwest music scene into national acclaim - Jeremy Messersmith, Peter Wolf Crier, Lookbook, Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, Solid Gold, The Blind Shake.  Not everyone has the chance in their lifetimes to make it to this gem of the south, which has been deemed the live music capital of the country, so we're taking you with us to connect with artists we love and hope you love along with us.  We've made the 20 hour trek from Minneapolis to The Lone Star State and spent months preparing what is a landmark broadcast for college radio.  We love music and know you do to, and that's why we hope you discover a band or two which will suffice the musical craving inside.  Enjoy.
