HUGHES: Dempsey’s. The Dubliner. O’Hanlon’s. There's no shortage of Irish themed drinking establishments in New York City. And they’re especially popular on Saint Patrick’s Day.

BHATNAGAR: What I typically do is, we always go out to some pub and take advantage of the one day to party, drink a lot of Guinness beer
and kind of just revel in it.

HUGHES: Sambuya Bhatnagar grew up in New Jersey, and his parents are from India. But that doesn’t mean he’s excluded from this celebration of all things Irish.
In the U. S., we tend to party hard on Saint Patrick’s Day – there’s plenty of shamrocks, lots of green beer -- the city of Chicago even dyes its river green.
But do the people celebrating actually know what the holiday is about?

PUB PATRON 1: I really have no clue what the significance of Saint Patrick’s Day is.
