- Sudan Radio Project
The civil war between North and South Sudan officially came to an end in 2005, but for impoverished South Sudan, many challenges remain. According to recent reports from the UN, South Sudan is in the grip of a growing HIV and AIDS epidemic. For the first installment in a new series on healthcare in South Sudan, Shilpa Boppana spoke with Dr. Ali Ah-med Ramadan, a doctor who works in South Sudan with the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, about what his organization is doing to raise awareness and prevent the spread of this deadly disease.
This piece first aired in "Contention and Conviction" on February 28, 2010.
