From: Sudan Radio Project
Length: 07:43

From the Sudan Radio Project: we hear about the growing humanitarian and political crisis in South Sudan. Read the full description.

Srp Sudan is abuzz with talk of the upcoming presidential race, which will be the nation's first multiparty elections in over twenty years. Soon after they choose their next president in this April's elections, Sudanese will face yet another landmark decision. In 2011, citizens of the region known as South Sudan -- who make up about 21% of the country's total population -- will vote on a referendum to determine whether they'll secede from the rest of the nation. Yet some are beginning to question whether the referendum will even take place, due to mounting tensions in South Sudan.  Chelsea Davis takes a closer look at the current political and humanitarian situations in the region.
