This time of year a lot of us are choosing gifts for people we love. But sometimes the gift that’s hardest to give is of ourselves. The holidays can tear couples apart. And instead of enjoying each other, too often we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed. I’m Sarah McConnell and today on With Good Reason, a marriage and family expert tells us many marriages in danger of falliung apart could actually thrive if more of us learned that there is an art to love and intimacy.

But first, Russ Crescimanno is a professor emeritus at Piedmont Virginia Community College. He’s been teaching a course on “Marriage and Family Relations” for 40 years and has recently published a book called “A Relationship is a Living Thing: It Must Be Nurtured to Stay Alive and Grow. He says most of us are never really taught how to sustain a rich and lasting marriage:

Close to twenty million Americans now practice some form of Yoga. The practice comes from ancient India, but exploded into the western world in the 60’s, and has grown in popularity since then. Graham Schweig of Christopher Newport University is a yoga scholar and practitioner. He recently published a new translation of the sacret text, the Bhagavad Gita,
