Piece Description
Bill Harley introduces an excerpt from TWENTY THOUSAND LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA by Jules Verne. Ships around the world are being terrorized by a beast that punctures their vessels. Naturalist Pierre Arronax is on a mission to discover and destroy the mysterious beast, when he and two other shipmates are thrown overboard. The three soon find themselves clinging to a submarine and at the mercy of Captain Nemo. But what is Nemo's mission? Will he allow Arronax and his friends to return to land? Each episode of Camel's Hump Radio features a compelling excerpt from a book, read by a professional actor and accented with original music. Our goal is to air an excerpt that hooks the listener into the story and ends with a finish that leaves them wanting to read the rest of the book. Review of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
This excerpt from Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" would be a good opening act to an airing of whatever flavor of War of the Worlds you might want to hear on Hallloween night or the evenings leading up to it.
Bill Harley and Camel's Hun dramatized reading of the classic novel proves that the story still holds sway after more than 130 years.
