Piece Description

This is mother's day with no mush but a lot of heart. 18-year-old Jordan Green and his mom guide us through an exploration of motherhood from various Queer perspectives, with a good dose of humor and some genuinely sweet moments. We hear the story of a gay teenager who has been living a secret life for years, and gets a huge (pleasant) surprise when he comes out; the tale of a cheerleading boy-obsessed sweet-sixteen girl who fights for the right to live with her lesbian mom; a portrait of two women who adopt a baby boy of a different race; and the progress of one girl's parents over the span of a year, after she tells them she's gay. Created by the Youth Producers of outLoud Radio.

Review of Mother's Day outLoud

The open, is very upbeat and has some positive shock value. Which definitely grabs attention right away. The story is conveyed very well and uses some very great transitions between the sound bytes. The production is great and the meshing of the pieces and parts are good as well.
